Hovercraft are still in regular use on the foot passenger route between Ryde on the Isle of Wight to Southsea, Portsmouth. The trip takes about 15 minutes, and the service runs approximately every half an hour. 2008 prices for a day trip from Southsea are £12.50 for an adult and £6.25 for a child.
